While there are certain NGOs and welfare organizations in Pakistan like Ideas9 working tirelessly to support plating trees campaign named ‘Sarsabz o Shadab Pakistan’, Pakistan Army has followed suit to promote this eco-friendly cause. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Army has simultaneously planted 2 million trees on Monday 13 August to support the initiative.
The tree plantation campaign is getting popular these days and even large media houses like ARY News have joined the initiative by planting 2 million trees from 1st August to 9th August. However, the new record set by Pak Army is breaking-stereo types. Talking about this initiative, Director General (DG) of ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor stated that Army Chief General Qamar JavedBajwa and his wife initiated the National Tree Plantation Campaign, and had requested to all Pakistanis to participate in this initiative.

ISPR also circulated an inspiring message of Gen. Bajwa over Twitter by saying “Trees are life. Plant trees to save lives.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf PTI which is expected to form its government with Imran Khan as PM has also revealed their plans to move towards a greener Pakistan in order to tackle the adverse global climate changes affecting the earth.
Furthermore, PTI’s Malik Amin Aslam, who is most likely to become the next environment minister, claims that PTI govt has plans for a 10 billion tsunami tree program to plant trees nationwide across the four provinces. Such eco-friendly initiatives, when brought up to a wide scale, will certainly cast an impact at a global scale.
