So a while back OnePlus announced that it will make the Android Pie 9.0 available for upgrade for their OnePlus 3 and 3T devices and this came as a very big surprise for consumers all over the world. Both phones were launched with the Android Marshmallow, got an update to the Android Nougat and then the it got an upgrade to the Android Oreo. Most of the Android manufacturers only stopped at two major OS updates which explains why the OnePlus 3 and the 3T will be getting the Pie as a big deal.
Moreover, the Android Pie update may well be coming as an upgrade very soon on both devices soon as the two models have been spotted to be running on the latest versions of the Google OS. Furthermore the OnePlus 3 was benchmarked a few days ago on the January 3rdbut the Android Pie running on the OnePlus 3T was benchmarked on the December 27. As it stands the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T run the OxygenOS 5.0.8 which is based on the Android 8.0 Oreo. OnePlus has canceled the update to the Android 8.1 Oreo in favor of the update to the Pie. The update to the OS version Pie will also bring a new security patch when it begins to roll out to users all around the globe.
OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T has been spotted running the Android Pie on Geekbench
The OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T both have a 5.5 inch 1920×1080 display and has a front mounted fingerprint scanner. The device comes packed with a 16MP back camera where they difference can be seen in the processor, the OnePlus 3 has a Snapdragon 820 while the 3T has a Snapdragon 821. The front cameras of the devices are 8MP on the OnePlus 3 and 16MP on the OnePlus 3T but another major difference is in the batteries of the mobile phones OP3 has a battery capacity of 3000mAh while the OP3T has battery capacity of 3400mAh.
