People have a lot of expectations from the new GSM network and we believe that 5G will have an immense impact on the way we carry out our day to day activities to stay connected, but like all great things there will come a time when even 5G won’t be fast enough, 5G won’t be efficient enough and gradually it will start to decay and to counter that the networkis bound to be surpassed by the next big thing which is 6G and well according to a notable source, three major companies hailing from the telecom industry have already decided to collaborate on it. Nokia, SK technology and Ericsson are coming together to start working on 6G
The major companies, Nokia and Ericsson have reportedly entered into a partnership with South Korean company SK Telecom (SKT) to work on the research and development for 6G. SKT is one of the top telecom operators in the world and is also proudly the first to switch on a commercial 5G network and the company will not lose the reputation they have gained by any means and SKT clearly hopes to stay ahead of other competitors in providing the fastest networks available.

Moreover, the company’s CEO Park Jeong-Ho has already met with his new partners TommiUittowho is the CEO of Nokia Mobile Network and Per Navinger from Ericsson the three have in turn signed joint technology development memorandums. It is at this moment that it should be noted thatthis, technological collaboration is one aspect of a grand plan to strengthen the Asian country’s ties with Scandinavia.
SKT is a firm believer in the concept that collaboration with such companies will play an pivotal role in setting up the foundation for 6G and ultimately shaping the future of network technology and hence will prove to have an impact on people’s lives. On this regard, SK Telecom stated that
“Collaboration between companies like this will be important as the technology and standard for 6G networks is yet to be clearly defined,”.
Moreover, the new partners will be working on various projects along with 6G R&D, projects include, research on Ultra Reliable and Low Latency (URLLC), Distributed Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO), artificial intelligence in networks, 28GHz band and 5G stand-alone networks. These projects and their ultimate implementation will be pivotal in determining the effectiveness of commercial 5G and later generation networks. So technology as we know it is about to change once again, innovation never seems to come to a halt in this industry.
