Nokia 9.1 Pureview set for launch in Q4

While the Nokia 9 Pureview may not be the most powerful phone in the world right now, it still happens to be the most powerful Nokia device that you can buy. The device recently made its way into the Indian market – nearly half a year since it was first announced. Now though, a report suggests that the successor for the Nokia 9 might be on its way – and it is reported to arrive as the Nokia 9.1 Pureview.

In accordance to what the report coming in from Nokia Power User has to say, the Nokia 9.1 Pureview was actually originally scheduled for a launch Q3 launch, however, this has now been moved to Q4 – based on the information from a source.

The reason given behind the postponement of the device comes as a result of some unresolved issues that the device still has – and these include aspects related to the device’s camera. Many suspect that the delay of the device may end up being worth it for all the potential customers, as Nokia is seriously looking to counter all the poor and negative reviews that the Nokia 9 Pureview got.

As far as the features and the specs of the device goes, HMD Global will continue with its relationship and partnership developed with Light. As a result, one would have to imagine that the camera performance should see significant upgrades – especially in cases where there is low-light, while video recording too should now be much better than what it was before. There are also suggestions that the camera performance this time round will be faster courtesy of a better processor and better software algorithms developed with the help of Light. It is great to see that Nokia is taking the camera department of the 9.1 Pureview this seriously, as the company’s devices previously have at times suffered reviews which may not have been too satisfactory. Indeed one of the complaints that many have with the Nokia 9 Pureview is that the camera isn’t as good as some of the others in the market.

It is said that the 9.1 Pureview will feature with a punch-hole display, much similar to what the Nokia X71 has to offer and there are reports of prototypes with this design. As far as the processor of the device is concerned – it will feature with the Snapdragon 855. The device will run Android Q right out of the box, and will also come with the support of 5G. Right now, we’re not sure whether or not there will be an LTE-only version.
