Today marks the completion of the last part of the promise made by HMD Global to update all its phones to Google’s latest Android Pie software – a direct consequence of the announcement that the Nokia 1 will be receiving the update.
Indeed the Pie update is already rolling out to one of the first ever Android Go smartphones : the Nokia 1. Coming with just entry level specs, the phone was announced by HMD Global back in the first quarter of last year.
If you happen to own a Nokia 1 smartphone, all you would have to do to acquire the update is to go to the settings menu and check for the update. There you’ll find the option.

The Pie update will feature as the Go Edition and will bring along features ranging from the likes of faster boot times, to the likes of verified boot, as well as a dashboard for the sake of monitoring and tracking of data consumption.
The Nokia 1 comes as a 4.5-inch device with a 480 x 854 resolution. The device features with just a gig of RAM, 8 gigs of storage and a MediTek MT6737M processor. On the rear side of the device we can find a 5MP camera while the front of the device is occupied by a 2MP sensor.
There is also the option for expandable storage with the MicroSD card slot which also doubles as a SIM slot. The MicroSD card slot allows users to add up to 128 gigs of storage. The phone also packs an FM radio, audio jack, and features with a 2150mAh battery to keep the lights running.
