The Nokia 9 Pureview was without doubt one of the most ambitious phones that the year 2019 saw – if not the most ambitious, as the device went on to offer a Penta-lens camera which happened to have been powered by light as well as some neat extras.
However, while on paper the camera setup was very impressive, last year’s flagship from HMD Global did suffer from inconsistent camera quality and slow camera performance – this all shipping with an older flagship chipset. Now though, reports of a Nokia 9.2 Pureview are making their way and HMD Global could fix all the wrongs that we saw in last year’s flagship.
The first time we heard a shout with regards to the Nokia 9.2 Pureview was last month via the Nokia Anew Twitter account. It was previously revealed by the account itself that the device was delayed to Autumn 2020 and will go on to offer the Snapdragon 865 chipset.
And now, some of the same information that we have seen previously has once again been presented by Nokia Power User, with the reports coming in from that department also suggesting that the upcoming flagship will indeed be named as the Nokia 9.2 Pureview as well as the inclusion of the Snapdragon 865.
Interestingly enough though, Nokia Power User’s source has also recently gone on to suggest that the device will not feature with Light Camera technology, citing post-launch support of the Nokia 9 Pureview as one possible hurdle.
Otherwise, it has also been suggested by the same that the Nokia 9.2 Pureview may arrive with a bezel-less display, consisting of either a 32MP or a 48MP selfie camera, wireless charging and no 3.5mm port.
Considering the fact that none of these details have been subject to confirmation, you should still take all the news with a grain of salt. However – one thing is for sure – Nokia will not be making the same mistakes twice with the year’s flagship.
