NINTENDO SWITCH LITE REVIEW

Nintendo might just be producing the most underrated gaming consoles of our generation. The Nintendo switch gave the word versatility a new meaning. The console could be played on TV, with joysticks, or as a handheld like the previous Nintendo gaming consoles. After the not so tempting experience with the WII, Nintendo had a good going with the Nintendo switch, but there were some obvious shortcomings that Nintendo needed to address if it were to introduce a new console and with the new Lite, it did, to some extent.

The Nintendo Switch Lite is basically going back to the basics. It does not support the removable joysticks to be attached to the TV, but offers better buttons which are more ergonomic and feel natural when playing Mario Kart. The game is more compact than the bulky and huge Switch, which made it carrying on the go just a bit difficult. However, the Lite is of perfect size and since the resolution of both displays is the same, it even has a better pixel density which means better picture quality and a more immersive gaming experience.

One complain that was common among Switch users was the battery timing which was coming in at around 2.5 to 6 hours depending on the game being played. With the new Lite, having a smaller display to use the battery for, the battery timing is improved to 3.5 to 7 hours.

The shoulders buttons are very impressive and the console is an overall joy to use. The 32GB of onboard storage is just a shame because of all the titles coming in the past few years having sizes in GBs and not MBs. However, there is support for MicroSD card slot so that you can top up your storage whenever you want.

At the end, it is a very fun device and Nintendo has paid attention in making this device an even more mass market device than the original one!
