New WhatsApp changes might disappoint users

New WhatsApp changes might disappoint users. WhatsApp is reportedly working on new update and it’s predicted that users will not be appreciative of a controversial feature which is going to launch for both Android and iOS users.

Shockingly, the new feature will open a door to advertisers for the famous messaging platform. Whatsapp has been internally developing new features that are about to roll out in upcoming times. Users might get disappoint with these new changes to messaging platform

David Marcus, Facebook’s Vice President of Messaging Products has declared WhatsApp will be now open to advertisers. While speaking to CNBC, he said,

“As far as advertising is concerned, we’re definitely getting WhatsApp more open. We’re now going to have the ability to enable larger companies, not only small businesses, to integrate a new API [application programming interface] to send and receive messages with people on the WhatsApp platform.”

On the other hands, WhatsApp founder Jan Koum also left Facebook, confirming the rumors that the WhatsApp will now roll out ads.

Though, the co-founder, Koum declared no reason for his leaving the company. But, according to rumors, he was not agreed by the differences in approach around a variety of issues, particularly about ad-based revenue and data targeting that WhatsApp now openly plans to do.

WhatsApp, currently owned by Facebook is the world’s most popular chat app, with over 1.5 billion monthly users. It follows encrypted messaging strategy. Although the messaging app admits they scan all the messages sent over Facebook messenger.

Interestingly, platform claims that they do not read messages sent over Whatsapp.

Facebook bought WhatsApp for $19 billion in 2014 and unlike other social network’s apps like Facebook and Instagram; luckily WhatsApp has remained an ad-free app so far. This is also one of the reasons that WhatsApp has remained the best choice of users all around the globe.
