It’s not Google, it’s not Samsung, it’s not Apple nor is it Facebook, in accordance with the report from the latest issue of the Brand Finance Global 500 report, Amazon is the number one company when it comes to value in the charts and this is not something new by any means, the company have been coming on top for the past three years now.
The company’s revenue totalled at a whopping $220.7 billion which has in turn made the company surpass the $200 billion mark which is an amazing milestone. Stats show that the company has seen 17.5% improvement in the previous year, 2019. One of the main reasons behind reason behind Amazon seeing such a surge in revenue is because of their calculated expansion of their portfolio to cloud computing, streaming services, consumer electronics, and logistics, this has in turn helped them rake in substantial amounts in terms of revenue.
Now when we talk about company’s who made the top, you will surely see a lot of familiar faces, the second spot just below Amazon is occupied by Google at an approximate value of $159.7 billion. Apple settle for the third spot with a total value of $140.5 even after the company saw an 8.5% decrease as compared to 2018.
Microsoft and Samsung at $117 billion and $94.4 billion respectively are placed at the number four and number five spots. Facebook managed to conquer the 7th position on the list at an estimated worth of $79.5 billion. Huawei, on the other hand, finally made it to the top 10 by sitting on the edge. The Chinese tech giant occupies the 10th position with a total valuation of $65 billion.
In terms of industries, The technological industry saw the highest combined value of $986.5 billion raking in data from 46 known companies and after the gradual rollout of the newest network internet technology, the 5G it is to take a flight this year, the telecom sector is likely to see a lot of revenue come their way.
