A very recent research report coming in from Stretegy Analytics has predicted that the next year of 2020 will see a large number of 5G enabled phones making their way into the market. Also, the report has suggested that over the course of the next six years – by 2025, sales of 5G enabled smartphones could be in excess of one billion units globally. It would make sense too that we may see such sale numbers – as more and more affordable 5G enabled devices will soon launch. This will only drive up the demand for the devices.
As of now though, there is little doubting the fact that the whole of the tech industry in moving towards 5G : another reason why it’s likely that cheaper 5G devices are not too far away. Currently, 5G enabled devices only account for one percent of the whole market – however, the firm has noted that by next year, this number will be driven up to ten percent as we will see more and more consumers make their move to 5G enabled devices.

A senior analyst at Strategy Analytics, had the following to say : “All major smartphone vendors including Apple are developing 5G handsets and will many more devices will launch in 2020.” In present times, Samsung is leading the way in terms of being the market leader in 5G smartphones as the Korean manufacturer has witnessed very strong sale numbers in the USA as well as its home country where more than a million people have actually signed up for service in the first 70 days of the rollout. However, China has been identified as the key market for growth in the 5G department as the country has been known to prioritize rapid development of high-speed 5G networks and innovation as a whole has been booming in the country for as long as we can remember. The analyst also stated that the manner in which the smartphone industry can deliver lower-cost 5G smartphones will be integral in the way that China can reach its goal next year.
