Microsoft is planning to launch HoloLens 2 at the end of this year. VR and AI technologies are on the rise and so is the demand of tools equipped with these technologies. With the passage of time, these technologies are getting more economical, which is a good sign for commercial industry.
Observing the trend, Microsoft is also planning to unveil HoloLens 2 headset and a cheaper Surface Pro at the end of 2018 or it might emerge in the first quarter of 2019.
A report by Thurrott.com declared that the new headset which has been given a codenamed “Sydney,” would be released in the first quarter of 2019.
Not to know, HoloLens was launched by Microsoft back in 2016, with augmented reality features. The headset has the ability to show and put both real world and virtual images combination of on a clear display.

As, the developers realized that there was a noticeable drawback of small field of view in the headset, hence reportedly now the company is working on it and the hardware is being changed for a new headset. It means, HoloLens 2 would feature a wider field of view.
According to many reports, it is projected that HoloLens 2 will be a better version of its predecessor. However, at the moment we are not sure to what extent would it be better from its predecessor?
It is predicted that the second-generation headset will bring better battery life for its users built around an ARM-based processor, so they can enjoy the mixed reality for a longer period of time. The current HoloLens model uses a discontinued Intel chip
The main objective and focus of HoloLens 2 headset will be to highlights the features consumers really want to enjoy. It will be ccustomer-oriented, that will focus on the features of customers’ choice.
Till now, HoloLens has typically been a developer and enterprise play, as it has a high price tag ($3,000 for the developer edition, $5,000 for the commercial “suite”). However, potential customers are hoping that the second generation will be more affordable in prices and improved than its predecessor in every manner.
