Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus arrive with a brand new rear display

There were times when it seemed that having just a fast processor, or having high memory storage would impress the potential customer. Then came the case for fingerprint scanners to impress the potential customer. However, now, with all the huge phones that are available on the market, with all the fingerprint scanners, and high RAM’s, it seems as if manufacturers need to do something a bit more creative. Things like eye scanners, dual cameras, infinity displays etc have already been made popular, however, Meizu has really taken to be more creative, as with its case, it has introduced us to a brand new rear display with Meizu Pro.

Previous leaks have made us somewhat familiar with the unique rear display, and this finally makes its appearance in the Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus. One might say that this is somewhat similar to the YotaPhone series, however, it is not totally similar, as this display is actually fully color, and much smaller, coming in at just 2 inches. The exact resolution has not yet been revealed, however, we do know that it is a Super AMOLED display.

To tell whether this rear display will actually be useful or not is not an easy thing to say at this time, however, one thing is for certain, it will something new, something different. Meizu touts the screen as a way to perform selfies with the rear camera, change music, and do other quick functions without turning on the bigger, more power hungry front display.

Other than the display, both the phones offer dual cameras, with resolutions of 12MP. On the front, there is the presence of a 16MP sensor, which perfects low-light selfies, using a new algorithm, called “four in one.”

In case you are wondering how the two models differentiate from one another, with the Meizu Pro 7 Plus, you get a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, 6GB RAM, 64 or 128GB storage, a 3,500 mAh battery, and MediaTek’s latest chipset, the Helio X30, and the phone will be available for $530. Turning our attention to the more affordable of the two phones, with the Meizu Pro 7, coming in with a price tag of $430, you get a 5.2-inch Full HD display, a MediaTek P25, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and a 3,000 mAh battery. Both the phones will be made available on the 5th of August and will be available in only about 17 markets.
