Just recently, the Mate X went on sale in Huawei’s home country of China, and as per media reports, the device apparently sold out “within seconds.”
After many delays which followed, the Mate X finally saw its launch in China last month. And while the device is more expensive than Samsung’s own version of a foldable device, the Mate X might well have beaten the Galaxy Fold in order to become the fastest selling foldable device in its home market.
Comparing the Galaxy Fold with the Mate X – Samsung witnessed its device being sold out in the first five minutes of actually going on sale in China. The reports have suggested that Samsung had 20,000 units on offer in the country as part of its first wave of sales. In India on the other hand, the Korean manufacturer had managed to sell out 1600 units into the phone’s first sale.
As far as the exact number of the devices sold by Huawei goes – we’re still in the dark about that. Huawei hasn’t exactly disclosed the exact number of Mate X units which were put up for sale in the first round.

It is suggested that the company has the capabilities and the resources to produce around 100,000 Mate X units each and every month. But it’s doubtful that the company put that exact number up for sale.
Huawei can also boast the quick sales of the Huawei Mate 30 5G as well as the Mate 30 Pro 5G as both these devices too have been reported to have been sold out in just a minute on their first sale day.
Huawei has been quite smart with how it has dealt with the US ban altogether. Ever since the ban came into existence, the company started to invest heavily in its home country in order to cushion anticipated losses due to the absence of Google apps and services on all the devices that the company can boast in the West. And as a result of all its efforts, things haven’t been as bad as one might have expected them to be initially.
