Rumors dating back to the start of 2018 strongly suggested that LG would be releasing a watch called the LG Watch Timepiece – and there was speculation over the concept that this watch would actually combine being a smartwatch.
These rumors, like I said before, date back to the early times of 2018, however, it seems that the rumors, neither the idea of the combination of the watch being a smartwatch with analog hands just might not be dead as of yet, because these sort of rumors seem to be surfacing once again.
There are very few details available on the watch, and that’s just how it is right now. The very experienced and trusted insider to tech affairs , Evan Blass was the first of many to break the news, as he broke the news by linking to a news piece for the original LG Watch Timepiece, and then making the claims that this watch would not actually launch six months later, under a totally different, and new name.
And other than that, it is actually also presumed to much of an extent that most of the details which are held true for the LG Watch Timepiece will also be held true for the LG Watch W7. With this in mind, you can pretty much expect to find a hybrid smartwatch, coming fully equipped with physical watch hands, and having a 1.2-inch screen with a 390 x 390-pixel resolution, all while running Google’s very own Wear OS.

Older rumors with regards to the device suggested that the users would have the power to be able to switch over to a heavily energy saving analog mode with regards to the watch, which would happen to shut down the Wear OS almost completely, and entirely, while also increasing the watch’s lifespan to up almost around a hundred days. This is much similar to the concept we saw in the MobvoiTicwatch Pro, and it is highly likely that such a mode would be greatly popular amongst users who are completely against the idea of charging a watch in daily occurrence.
Originally, it was speculated that the watch would feature the Snapdragon 2100 platform, alongside 768MB of RAM, and 4 GB of external Storage, however, now that time has progressed, and taking into consideration the fact that Snapdragon 3100 is now pretty much on the horizon, it’s quite possible that the watch W7 will go on to feature Qualcomm’s latest wearable tech.
The LG V40 ThinQ is set for a launch on the 3rd of October, so the good news is that we won’t have to wait too long before finding out whether Evan Blass’ claims really are true or not.
