LG has flown under the radar ever since the LG G5 and there has been no revival from the company as of late. The LG G6 was a breath of fresh air and gave LG huge potential going forward, but the sales figures didn’t help and LG really didn’t try hard with the G7 and consequently with the G8 Thinq, each iteration after the G6 was a spec-wise beefed up version of the previous model with little innovation and thus left the LG loyals wanting more who probably would have then shifted to other companies like Samsung who has established itself as the leader of the smartphone industry.

However, LG has now introduced a variable version of the G8 THINQ S and no matter how weird the name sounds, it is a variant that might just be as forgettable as the LG G8 THINQ. No changes could be considered monumental with a triple camera setup compared to the dual camera on the G8. The additional camera is responsible for the 12 MP telephoto. The other difference is the display which is a 2248×1080 LED compared to the 3120×1440 on the G8. The DAC for the awesome video and audio recording capabilities that the G8 is renowned for, is also different with a 32 bit compared to a QUAD DAC on the G8.
The rest is the same with the Snapdragon 855 inside and the same 6GB RAM, 128GB internet storage. LG has brought the gimmicky HAND ID which has brought back the Galaxy S3 features back making them a little more accurate but still remains gimmicky as few have found real use to the feature set that LG has to offer. We hope that LG has had enough time to polish these features and to find some useful ones while its at it.
