Just yesterday, Lenovo used the aid of blogging site Weibo in order to announce its latest and upcoming smartphone, the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT. The phone is now becoming the talk of the smartphone world, and one of the leading, perhaps the biggest reason even for this is the fact that it will come with a huge 12 gigs of RAM, and it would indeed be the first smartphone ever to do so. Not only this, but the phone could also be the first ever to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset.
The Lenovo Z5 Pro was launched back in November in China, and it came with a sliding back mechanism, much similar to the one we had on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3. Other then this, the phone came with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chip, 6 gigs of RAM, along with a 6.39 inch display (2340 X 1080), which by the way, is notch less. This complete package came at a quite reasonable price tag of only $290.

The latest Lenovo Z5 Pro GT seems to have taken a similar design pattern to the one found on the Z5 Pro, with a quite significant upgrade in the specs department. The 6.39 inch display is still carried on with this new phone, and so is the sliding back, dual front and rear cameras, an In-display fingerprint sensor etc etc. However, what’s changed is the fact that now we have a greater amount of RAM, more internal storage, and of course, another major improvement comes in as the Snapdragon 855 is now integrated into the phone.
Furthermore, even though the phone comes with some very significant changes and upgrades, it’s quite surprising to see that there isn’t too big a price increase. The 6GB/128GB variant comes in at $391, the 8GB/128GB comes at $434, while the most luxurious variant, coming in with 12 gigs of RAM and 512 gigs of internal storage is going to set you back $635.

Lenovo has stated that the phone will be available for Pre-order on the 15th of January, while the general sales will begin on the 24th of January. It is likely that the phone is only based in China, however, it just as might be the first ever phone to hit the global market that comes with the Snapdragon 855, considering the Galaxy S10 isn’t expected to launch until February.
