Earlier period this year, Lenovo updated the low-end systems under their Legion gaming brand name. Currently, the company is doing the similar for the top-end Y920, just in time for Computex, Taiwan.
The new Legion Y920 is a different machine aimed at advanced gamers which obediently ticks all the boxes equally in terms of speed and output. It aims to be one of your top choices if you are in the marketplace for such systems and so far it looks to have succeeded to grab the attention of potential and target consumers.
Internals, Display, and Storage
The Y920 comes with a 17.3-inch IPS display on the portico frontage, with (1920 x 1080) 1080p resolution. The display ropes Nvidia G-Sync and comes with a 75Hz invigorate rate, too.
The keyboard catches a page out of Razer’s book, presenting RGB LEDs and programmable buttons. The keys are also automatic for a richer (and clicker) experience.
Within the hood, you get either an Intel Kaby Lake 2.9GHz i7-7820K or 2.8GHz Core i7-7700HQ processor. That goes along with 16 GB LPDDR4 memory as well as a 512 GB SSD, which can be supported with an extra 1 TB hard drive. For graphical requirements, you get a Nvidia GTX 1070 graphics card with 8 GB VRAM.
Connectivity Options, Weight, and Battery
For connectivity, you obtain 4 USB 3.0, 1 USB-C with Thunderbolt 3, 1 Display Port, 1 HDMI, and Ethernet, along with Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 6-in-1 card reader and Bluetooth 4.1. There are double 2W JBL speakers with 3W subwoofer, as well as a 720p webcam.
The laptop won’t come light, but then all over again gaming machines are rarely on the featherweight side. It weighs in at 4.6 kg or more than 10 pounds with a width of 36 mm. The battery at this point is a 90W cell. It comes with pre-installed Microsoft’s Windows 10 Home.
Price and Availability of Legion Y920
The Legion Y920 will cost $2,699 just the once it goes up on sale opening from June at Lenovo’s online store. With parallel specs, you can catch an Alienware 17 R4 for $2,400 or the HP Omen 17 in the company of a GTX 1070 for $1,800 which makes the Y920’s worth outlook lesser.
