One of the biggest complaints that Samsung received with regards to its first ever foldable device in the Samsung Galaxy Fold was that the device came with a tiny external smartphone display. So much so that many claimed that this was nothing more than an after-thought for the company.
Rumors do though indicate that this will change with the next generation of the fold, as the recent speculation concludes that the Galaxy Fold 2 will actually arrive with a bigger external display. Indeed the latest rumors claim that Samsung’s next foldable phone will arrive with a 6.23-inch 2,267 x 819 OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate.
Moreover, there is also the claim that the Galaxy Fold 2 smartphone panel will be arriving with a punch-hole cutout. Previously it was also stated that the main screen for the foldable device would also have the punch-hole integrated within, so don’t at all be surprised to see two punch-holes integrated within the device – one for the main screen, while the other for the external screen.

Speaking a bit more about the main screen, the speculation states that the Galaxy Fold 2 will feature with a 7.59-inch OLED display (2,213 x 1,689) with a 120Hz refresh rate. And so with that said, you sure can expect smooth system animations as well as a smooth gaming experience.
It is also said that much like the Galaxy Note series, the Galaxy Fold 2 too will offer the S-pen. Whether or not this pen would fit into the body of the foldable though remains to be seen – more information will come through with the course of time of course.
In any case though, it would be a great move by Samsung if the company does indeed increase the outside display. Along with this, with a 120Hz internal display as well as the introduction of the S-pen and we are looking at quite a substantial improvement.
