HMD Global’s latest phone – the Nokia X71 was launched in Taiwan just a week ago, and the phone made history by becoming the company’s first ever device to have a punch hole display. And now, HMD global is set to launch the phone in China, on the 8th of April.
The phone is actually quite similar when compared to the Nokia 7 Plus (black + copper color variant, Snapdragon 660 processor) is also the very first phone from Nokia to have a triple camera setup on the rear. The past couple of days have seen a bunch of teasers being dropped by the account of Nokia Mobile China, and today was the day that it was finally confirmed when the phone is set to be finally unveiled.
The phone consists of a 6.39-inch Pureview display, featuring with an FHD+ resolution and a 19.3:9 aspect ratio. While the diameter of the whole punch wasn’t actually confirmed by HMD global, the fact that the screen-to-body ratio is 93% has been confirmed. Much like the Honor View 20, the punch hole on the device is on the left.

Powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor, the phone features with 6 gigs of RAM along with 128 gigs of internal storage, with the support for expandable storage. Like I stated before, the rear of the device has a triple camera setup integrated, with this consisting of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle sensor, and finally, a 5MP sensor for depth of field. On the front of the device, we have a 16MP f/2.0 sensor. Along the triple rear camera setup on the back of the device, we also have a fingerprint scanner.
The phone supports Bluetooth 5.0, Dual SIM Dual Standby, while right out of the box, the phone will be running Android 9 Pie. The phone will feature with a 3500mAh battery to keep the lights running, while it also has support for 18W fast charging. The phone supports a USB Type-C port, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack, while a notification LED is integrated right into the power button. The phone comes in only a single color variant – Eclipse Black.
