So in recent times Nawaz Sharif the former Prime Minister of Pakistan had found things to be relatively hard. Following his sickness, he has urged the High Court of Pakistan to allow him to go to USA to undergo specialized treatment. The Lahore High Court will continue their hearing of a plea seeking for the removal of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL) today.
Now during fridsy’s hearing, the LHC had dismissed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the federal government’s stance challenging the maintainability of the plea and called it admissible.The two member bench which is being lead by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi and a comprises of Justice Sardar Ahmad Naeem, will resumr the hearing of the case, where the federal government and NAB submitted their replies to the two-member bench.
So far in what is believed to be the written verdict, the LHC said that the federal government’s objection regarding the court’s jurisdiction was not right, adding that the case fell under there jurisdiction. Moreover,following yesterday’s hearing, it is found that the federal government have urged the court to maintain its condition of seeking a security bond from the former prime minister, which will undoubtedly never be accepted by Nawaz Sharif or his party the Pakistan Muslim League Noon.

Moreover,the Additional Attorney General Ishtiaq A Khan who is appearing on behalf of the federal government had objected to the maintainability of the petition and requested that the petition should be dismissed for being “non-maintainable”.He further stated that Nawaz should approach the Islamabad High Court instead for the removal of his name from the ECL, as the federal government had placed his name on the list and the court lacked the jurisdiction to entertain the plea.
The government in its 45-page reply opposed the removal of Nawaz’s name from ECL without getting a security bond from Nawaz Sharif. They further said that the PML-N leader has been convicted and therefore he should not be allowed to leave the country without submitting a security bond.The accountability watchdog also submitted its four-page reply to the court. So let’s see what comes out of today’s hearing. Hopefully we will get the courts decision in the next few days.
