iPhones, XR, XS and XS Max. Finally the chant of rumors and speculation is over as Apple has officially released its new trio of Smartphones for the year 2018 at its much-hyped ‘Gather Round’ event. And it is being said that these are the Apple’ best Smartphone ever till now.
These new 3 iPhones look like IphoneX in design. The latest trio named the XS, XS Maxand XR (pronounced ten-S, ten-S max and ten-R.
Well now the pointy is how they are really different from iphone X. In order to know this fact, let’s dive in and see what Apple is offeringto its users this time with the new iPhones.
Design
Well, as I told earlier that the design is exactly the same as before, since all three models still have large almostwithout bezel screens featuring a sizeable notch at the top.
Well this time the notch on the iPhones do serve an important function.
With the notch you can hide a series of different sensors including a dot projector, a flood illuminator, an IR camera, front speaker and the microphone. Now, what else you want from a notch?
Display
Let’s talk about iPhone XR, as it comes with an aviation rank aluminum body, features a 6.1-inch 1792 x 828 (a little lower than Full HD) resolution “Liquid Retina” LCD display which is best LCD display ever made by the Apple, as the company claimed.
The good news is,much like the ill-fated Razer Phone, it features a 120Hz refresh rate. However, we now have to see how Apple manages battery life with these features.
On the her hand, the XS and XS max both have Super Retina OLED display.But, the XS with the comes in at 5.8 inches and the XS maxhave Apple’s largest display with a 6.5-inch panel and that is biggest display of any iPhone yet.
According to Apple, these phones come with their best and most durable glass ever, along with a surgical steel frame. Well, let’s see how it can compete against Android phones.
The XS and XS max support HDR 10 and Dolby Vision for HDR content as well. Moreover, they have 60% greater dynamic range.
Water and dust resistance
Now, let’s talk about water and dust resistance of these smartphones. The XR comes with the IP 67 rating for water and dust resistance at the same time,the XS and XS Max feature IP 68, it meansunder two meters of water, they can survive up to several minutes.
Interestingly, Apple has done tests of the S models with different liquids including beer and orange juice.

Face ID
This time, you would witness a faster and secure version of FaceID.
Internals and Storage
You would witness another surprise by Apple in the handsets of 2018, as the company introduced its first ever 7nm chip called A12 Bionic (however, Huawei unveiled their 7nm Kirin 980 chip first).
It have 6-core processor which is 15% faster than A11 from last year), 50% faster quad-core GPU and an updated octa-core neural engineto work with the AI features such as the camera and other stuff features the iOS 12.
Although Apple didn’t mention the RAM capacity but most probably it would be 3 GB RAM for the iPhone XR and 4 GB for the XS and XS Max.
In three storage variants,Apple will offer the XR 64, 128 and 256 GB. The more expensive versions of XS and XS Max will be available in 64, 256 and 512 GB options.
Software
All three will iphones will come with iOS 12 out of the box.
Dual Sim capability
Arguably the biggest addition to the iPhones is dual SIM capability, which uses an embedded or eSIM as well as a slot for another SIM card. The eSIM will be pre-installed when you buy the phone from a carrier, it’ll be interesting to see how it ends being used in Pakistan.
Camera Setup
This time, iPhone XS and XS Max feature the same dual camera setup with a 12MP wide-angle f/1.8 sensor paired with a 12MP Telephoto f/2.4 lens. It features optical image stabilization with the latest Image Signal Processor and Neural Engine for better and video quality. Moreover, XS and XS Max features stereo sound recording in videos.
Furthermore, the depth of field of the images can be set manually after you shoot the picture, well this feature been on Android for quite a while now users of iphone would be glad to see it.
On the other side, the cheaper iPhone XR have a single f/1.8 shooter, but it does come with OIS and the improved True Tone flash as in the XS and XS Max. Apple point out that XR achieves bokeh effect in portrait images with the help of AI and also claimed that the XR is their best single camera phone yet.
Battery
The company didn’t give any solid numbers for the battery capacities on the three iPhones but they did say that the XS lasts 30 minutes more than the iPhone X at the same time XS max lasts 1.5 hours more than the iPhone X. Apple compared XR with iPhone 8 Plus, which was famous for its notable battery life, saying that it lasts 1.5 hours more.

• It is important to mention here that Apple has also reduced the prices for iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 to $450 and $599 respectively.
