There is a particular string of characters in the Sindhi language that are seemingly causing havoc on iOS devices across the globe. Upon receiving the text in question, iOS goes on to crash completely. As a result of this crash, a forced restart is then requires in order to get the iPhone/iPad operational once again. For now, your only option to avoid the problem is to disable notifications for all instant messaging application until Apple comes out with a solution if its own.
Of course, much like any other operating system, iOS too is host to a number of different bugs. While some of these bugs are harmless and do little to no damage, others can be potentially very dangerous and can actually lead to data breaches and even worse.

It was Everything Apple Pro that discovered that a which contained some characters in the Sindhi language proceeded on to trigger iOS to go haywire and crash altogether. Such a text message goes on to render the device unresponsive, with the only way to fix it by restarting the phone. The character strings that are in question have gone viral and are being used by pranksters in order to prey on unsuspecting users. This character-driven bug also went on to occur two years ago back in 2018 – however, the character in question at that time actually belonged to the Indian language of Telugu.
While it does appear that iOS 13.4.5 does indeed fix the issue, the software still happens to be in beta and will not be available for most users for quite some time. In the meantime, like mentioned earlier, the only possible fix is to switch off notifications for all messaging apps. Considering the fact that the string of text is widely available on most of the instant messaging apps out there, the likelihood that you will be on the receiving end is now higher than ever.
