With iOS 14 set for this year, we have already talked quite a bit about Apple’s latest and upcoming software. And now, courtesy of a leak, it is said that the iOS 14 will not be leaving any phones behind this year either, as it is rumored to be compatible with all Apple mobile phones that were running iOS 13.
This particular leak comes courtesy of The Verifier, which went on to cite code within the beta version of the latest iOS from Apple as well as an insider being a source. Rumors dating back to January did actually claim that both the iPhone 6S as well as the original iPhone SE would end up getting the iOS 14 update – despite the fact that both these devices are more than five years old.
Of course you want to be sure that your iPhone too is included in the latest of the devices that will be making its way into iOS 14, consider the following list for the purposes of checking for compatibility :

Apple has made a habit of ditching phones from getting the latest version of iOS out there when the chipsets present in the specified devices get too old to manage the update. Both the iPhone 6S as well as the original iPhone SE use an Apple C9 CPU, as does the 7th generation iPod touch – all of whom are said to arrive with the support of iOS 14 in accordance with the leak.
And so you wouldn’t be too far off when suggesting that this particular chipset is still indeed powerful enough to run the same basic software as the most recent iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone SE (2020) models.
