The best thing about this new update is that it’s quickest approach to make new Docs, slides, sheets, and forms. The company rolled out its “.new” domain to instantly make a new file across any of these services.
After getting this update, you can even bookmark the domains to bring into work as shortcuts. In this way you will get a same blank document with just a click. Before this update, it was not possible through a direct method as we have to follow the steps written below in order to create new files:
- Go to Google Drive
- Click the “new” button
- Select the service you want to use
Well from now onward, you don’t have to follow all the above steps. As now you have a shortcut for this purpose, all you need to do is just type “doc.new” to get started in a new Google Doc.

In order to make any new file, just type commands like sheet.new, spreadsheet.new, slide.new, deck.new, presentation.new, site.new, website.new, form.new and so on.
