Huawei upcoming foldable phone may get flexible OLED display of BOE. We all are expecting a foldable phone from the house of Huawei, which we may see later this year or earlier next year, as reportedly the company is working on it. In this regard, Huawei itself claimed that it has a working prototype of its foldable phone.
Well, a new development has been seen. According to the latest report by ETNews via DigiTimes suggests Huawei will use flexible OLED displays of a Chinese manufacturer for its foldable phones.
Huawei has partnered with BOE Technology homeland’s company to improve its innovative work. Therefore, BOE Technology is the first Chinese component maker to manufacture flat LCD/OLED panels. Now it has allegedly begun manufacturing flexible OLED display.
Huawei’s upcoming foldable smartphones is said to be use 8-inch in size cin-folding OLED displays.
In addition, two other major smartphone makers (names of these smartphone makers have not been disclosed until now) have also come up to BOE to build up four prototypes of foldable OLED panels. However, it seems to be a good gesture for Chinese smartphone industry.

In the past, we have seen a patent of Huawei on how its foldable phone will look like and how it will work. The patent declared that Huawei’s phone will have a connecting platform of a sort in the middle that will fold up to a complete 90 degree on both sides.
To be honest, manufacturing such a flexible OLED panel would surely be a hard job for any component maker.
In a nutshell, it is not clear right now who will pioneer the foldable phone landmark, Huawei or Samsung? But, we have heard more rumors about Samsung’s foldable phone than Huawei’s prototype.
On the other hand, back in April, a report suggested that Huawei’s first foldable phone may turn up in November this year.
