While there are some problems going for the Chinese manufacturer, Huawei, it now seems that the problems aren’t only of political interest, as after the announcement by the company that Huawei will block third-party launchers on its EMUI 9, there are now complaints coming out from a huge amount of users that the company’s smartphones automatically go on to delete images which are downloaded from the Twitter app based in China. The complaints have followed on by users on various online based forums.
There was also a confirmation by a user on Reddit that he too was facing this particular problem. He added to his claim by saying that he had gone on to receive an update worth around 3.5MB on his Honor Note 10 device, and after the update, his device proceeded to delete images from Twitter. The problem, for now, seems to be a China exclusive one, as by his own statement, his other device – the Huawei P20 Pro hasn’t encountered the problem, since it is a global one.

Interesting to note is that images being downloaded from the Twitter mobile app are facing deletion, while images coming through mobile browsers, including that of Huawei’s own, remain safe. The users are continuing their experiments, and have stated that going back to the previous version of the application allows users to save images like normal.
It may seem that the Twitter app is deleting the images, however, at this period of time, there aren’t actually any other smartphones that are facing this issue, since there are now reports otherwise about the deletion of Twitter images except for Huawei’s phones.
Huawei phones having a problem
At this period of time, neither of the two, Huawei, or Twitter has gone on to make a statement with regards to the issue. Interesting also is the fact that Twitter is blocked in China, and the Chinese people have to have access to a VPN in order to launch the blocked platforms based in the country, and Twitter is no exception.
