Huawei has officially unveiled the Nova 5I PRO in China and will soon be heading to international markets but with a different and rather more appropriate name, the Mate 30 Lite. The Mate 30 was a banger of a phone, and as Huawei’s trends go, we were soon to be expecting a Lite version of the phone, being the cheaper option to the flagship. So here it finally is!
The Nova 5I PRO has a 6.26 IPS LCD display with a FULL HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080. The processor is a 7nm 810 processor, Android 9.0 PIE is what runs the software side of things and powering all of that is a 4000 MAH battery. As you would have clearly noticed, compromises in every department of the phone compared to its parent model has got the price down.

With regards to the camera, we have 4 cameras on the rear and one cutout selfie shooter on the front. The quad camera is a rather expected one, with a Sony 48MP, 8MP ULTRA WIDE, 2MP SUPER MACRO and 2MP depth sensor. In recent times, one thing has stood out more than anything, that adjusting the cameras of such phones is much more important than just adding in more of them. The front facer is a 32MP one, lets just hope that it performs better than its competitors of the same mp count. The battery tops up 50% in 30 minutes which is admirable at this price point.
The pricing is also aggressive, starting off with a 6GB 128GB version for around Rs 35000, 8 GB 128GB for around Rs 40000 and the top version being the 8GB 256GB version for around Rs 45000.
It ends being a promising phone but only time will tell how this phone rounds up with those of its price range and how upwards the price will actually go with the added taxes.
