The situation doesn’t seem to be getting any better between the US and China, with the tensions being at an all time high as the US government imposed a trade ban against Huawei. With such a decision from the US government in mind, there has been speculation that the Chinese government might be looking to retaliate with sanctions against some of the US tech firms, such as Apple.
However, to such news, Ren Zhengfei, who is the founder of Huawei responded by saying that he would carry out a protest if the Chinese government was to take such a decision. In his statement where he made it clear that he would be against any such ban, he called Apple his “teacher.”
He said : “That will not happen, first of all. And second of all, if that happens, I’ll be the first to protest. Apple is my teacher, it’s in the lead. As a student, why go against my teacher? Never.”

He used the opportunity to dismiss any allegations against the Chinese manufacturer which stated that it stole US technology, despite there being a hefty amount of claims against his company.
He told Bloomberg : ‘I stole the American technologies from tomorrow. The US doesn’t even have those technologies.”
The founder of Huawei was also quick to acknowledge that while the ban placed by the US has without doubt affected his company’s 5G lead, it will be quick to deliver solutions in order to fill the gap. However, there was no mention of a timescale for such replacement solutions – as to exactly when they may come into effect.
Huawei has become increasingly desperate and isolated as time has taken its toll. This is a direct consequence of Intel, Qualcomm, the SD association as well as ARM all taking the decision to cut ties off with the firm as part of the US order. Will the company bounce back – only time will tell.
