Huawei aims at “better at emotions” digital assistant. Huawei is a company that is keen on adding as much artificial intelligence to its gadgets as possible. In China, Huawei phones are already shipping with an AI assistant. And the dedicated digital helper “Huawei” is eventually going to roll out elsewhere too. Yes, the company is about to roll out a key improvement to its digital assistant by giving it better abilities at emotional interactions for users.
Provision of better emotional interactions is the Huawei’s aim according to Huawei’s Felix Zhang.
The company aims at this goal because it has foreseen the users’ desire in the the future to interact with the system in the emotional mode. And the company says that “This is the direction we see in the long run.”
We can expect in the future a phone that can read our mood and respond accordingly, rather than its just feeding back programmed responses though it will do that too.
It mens that tone of your voice, how you are using your phone, and other bits of information could all be crunched to try and get a feel for how you are doing.

While talking to CNBC, Zhang pointed to the Samantha assistant in the 2013 movie as inspiration for what Huawei is working on. Zhang called Samantha as a dream for all the engineers and said, “Like in the movie, you can even get rid of your girlfriend. This is quite emotional service providing.”
Huawei’s idea is that the AI app would eventually evolve to the point where it can keep up a conversation with user to provide some emotional support as well as news on the weather and the current traffic conditions on the way to the office or whatever.
The point where Huawei will be available with the emotional assistance for the users, is not clear exactly. However, we shall hope this innovation in the near future to see, because Huawei is not the only company in this struggle. So, we can expect companies like Google Assistant, Cortana, Alexa and Siri to be smarter and sophisticated over time.
