HTC to launch its upcoming Android flagship on May 23rd. Launch date for the upcoming mobile phone device by HTC has been announced this week on twitter. The tweet has ensured that the company has not ended up division of its smartphones and upcoming event will be for the Android release by the company.
The next major Android release by HTC is almost certain to be the HTC U12. U12 has already made a couple of early appearances through leaked images ahead of the launch. The images we are talking about, have suggested the U12 would not have a notch.
Absence of notch with U12 is marking a break of the device with the majority of Android flagships this year.
The upcoming Android flagship is coming under the tagline “a phone that is more than the sum of its specs,”. The tagline has hinted at an effort from HTC to distinguish itself in ways other than the usual chase for the latest & greatest hardware components.

If we assume that the exploded view of components in the teaser image is showing parts of the upcoming phone, we can easily piece together a few of the specs. This assumption of the teaser image leads us to see a dual-camera setup for the back and, seemingly, another camera for the front, in U12.
According to an image received from serial leaker Evan Blass, back in March thus year. The upcoming android flagship that is presumed U12, appears to hold a card tray for microSD storage expansion. However it does not show signs of a headphone jack, as this is the feature HTC has abandoned early in 2017.
It is curious to see HTC persisting with its smartphone range even after selling off the majority of its phone business to the giant of technology “Google”.
HTC’s next flagship is coming a week after the launch of the OnePlus 6. The assumed U12 is expected to face fierce competition from an Android market that’s already been almost entirely refreshed with fresh models of 2018.
