Remember HTC? The brand that gave Samsung a run for its money at one point but then it just couldn’t live up against the star power of the Samsung brand and only Huawei kept on trying until it reached the heights that it has reached now. For HTC, these past few years have been nothing short of stagnant. None of the phones released by HTC received any sort of traction, plus the HTC VR Headset also was a bust with the VR technology not getting any attention and eventually companies just giving up on the idea of improving their VR headsets. So, all that HTC was left with was the brand name itself and that too was allowed to licensed by other companies which include Indian smartphone maker LAVA. HTC introduces wildfire X.

After the 8 year drought, HTC has brought back the Wildfire with LAVA producing the phone under the moniker HTC WILDFIRE X. It is a low powered budget device with nothing to get surprised about. The processor is a MediaTek helio P22 chipset with a 3300MAH battery, upto 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage. The display is a 6.22 inch 720p display and a triple camera setup consisting of a 12MP main sensor, a 8MP sensor with 2X optical zoom, and a 5MP depth sensor.
Basically, it’s a very silent attempt to get back to business for HTC and LAVA might just be using the more recognizable brand name of HTC to get people to buy the phone. The pricing would start from $140 for the 3GB and 32GB model, while the 4GB/128GB storage costs $180. The phone would be available from August 22.
HTC wont be turning heads with this one but might just get that determination back to produce classy phones that were once extremely popular.
