How many times have you actually remembered your password? Well, you are not alone with all social media now accessible through phones which have the always logged in feature with no need to enter your password every time you open the app. Moreover, phones now have fingerprints and face recognition features eliminating the need to remember the password for majority of people. So what about Windows then? Though Microsoft has added the fingerprint and face recognition features to Windows, the face recognition atleast is insecure and can cause unwanted entry into your windows device. So now lets say you forgot your password and need a way to get in. Don’t worry, there are a couple ways to do that.
- LOGGING INTO A MICROSOFT ACCOUNT
Microsoft has integrated outlook into the windows machines that it prefers that you sign in with your Outlook account to use some of the mail and other features of windows as well. But what if you forgot your password and are stuck on the sign in screen. All you have to do is click the forgotten password, which takes you to a screen where it asks you to send a code to your email that you input allowing for you to enter the code from the email. Windows then asks you to enter a new password and re enter it after confirming the code. Voila! you’re in!

- LOGGING INTO A LOCAL ACCOUNT
The user also gets the option of using a local account but in order to keep the account safe the user needs to answer security questions so that whenever the user forgets the password they can press enter onto the empty password screen when logging into the local account which then allows for the forgot password option to appear leading the user to a security question screen, which when answered correctly allows you to set your new password.
