Honor makes some interesting announcements

As October ends, we finally see the end of the madness in the smartphone world. With the end of the action packed month, Honor has also finally announced its much rumored Magic 2 slider smartphone, which goes on to avoid the polarizing notch. Though this was just the beginning, as the company has made some even more announcements, as it goes on to reveal the Watch magic smartwatch, Waterplay 8 tablet, and wireless earbuds.

Honor watch magic

The watch magic features a 1.2 inch circular AMOLED display, with a 390 x 390 resolution, GPS, GLONASS, barometer, compass, and NFC. The watch also features a heart rate monitor, and has the ability to detect when you are sleeping, or doing any activity, like swimming. The battery that you’ll find inside would is a 178mAh one, and while it seems a tad small, Honor claims that it will be more than adequate for a weeks normal use.

Waterplay 8

Next up as far as the announcements go, Honor went on to reveal the Waterplay 8 tablet, which features an 8-inch IPS display, with a 1920 x 1200 resolution. This to go with Huawei’s Octa-Core Kirin 659 processor and 4 gigs of RAM, it’s safe to say that performance is assured. Another thing that makes the tablet quite interesting is the fact that it features dual rear cameras. The cameras present are 13 and 5MP cameras. It’s not quite often that we see two rear cameras on a tablet, is it? Another interesting thing is that the tablet comes with an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance – and this too isn’t too popular amongst tablets. The tablet is available in China for around $215.

FlyPods Pro

And finally, in conclusion, Honor announced the FlyPods Pro. These have taken inspiration from Apple’s airpods, coming with a long stem and a plastic earbuds, which would either suit you, or won’t.

The earbuds do feature some really cool features, such as bone-conducted voice recognition, which would go on to better isolate your voice, when you would happen to issue commands to the Honor’s yoyo virtual assistant. There is also support for the HWA audio with the earbuds in mind, along with wireless charging, though the earbuds would have to be inside the case for that to take place.

The earbuds have an IP54 rating, touch controls for both the earbuds, and also, a USB Type-C port, which is present on the case. This all with three hours of battery life, though this is extended substantially, to an extra 20 hours when the earbuds are placed within the case.

While it is still unknown as to exactly when the earbuds will be available, the Charm Red version will cost $143. Another set of regular Flypods were revealed, which will cost $114, and will be available starting the 6th of November.
