Isn’t that confusing? One would be thinking why would a security flaw that Google found in Apple devices hurt Huawei. But as the case presents itself, Huawei might be in more trouble than it the one it already is in right now with the US ban.
Here’s the thing. Google recently found a security flaw in Apple devices which caused access to iPhones to be accessed when they visited certain malicious websites. This gave the hacker, or the owner of the websites access to the contacts and the entire device, which is a very troubling concern for all those who consider Apple to be the most secure ecosystem. Google was rather quiet on the matter and reported the problem to Apple quietly which was then fixed. Google also didn’t list the malicious websites. One surprising note here to take is the fact that this problem persisted for the past two years and has been fixed by Apple just recently, when it was alerted, not a good job Apple!

The question that arises now is that who’s behind the websites. Reports claim that it was China as it launched a crackdown into the minority Uyghurs who live mainly in the Xinjiang province of China. They are said to be forcibly converted from Islam to communist religion in Chinese concentration camps and their phones were heavily monitered by Chinese authorities and it is said that the monitoring was done through the websites that Google alerted Apple about. That’s where Huawei comes in. US had banned Huawei on the basis of security concerns and was not allowed to do business with other American companies. Now, if the new reports are true, this puts Huawei in a whole lot of trouble and puts China and US again in a fight for security, a fight in which both parties can be called guilty.
