There is good news for all Android users, as the latest Android version is officially launched and this time P stands for Pie for Android Pie 9.0. Moreover, if you’re a Pixel User then it’s your day because you’ll be the first one to get the update as it’s rolling out to Google’s devices and Essential Phones today.
On the other hand, if you’re not a pixel user then don’t worry you’ll have to wait for a few more months to get the Android update. And all those who are already using Android P’s beta version they have to wait for some time as well.
According to Google, all phone companies that were part of the Android P beta program will catch the latest Android version by the end of fall 2018.
Following companies were part of Android P beta program:
- Sony
- Xiaomi
- HMD Global
- Oppo
- Vivo
- OnePlus
- Essential
Apart from Essential, all the other above-mentioned companies will launch the update in later months. Essential Phone will get the update along Pixel devices right now.+

In order to provide Android P’s AI functionality to more Android users, Google is also working with partner manufacturers. So, more users can get benefit from it.
What are the new features?
- In the new OS will get an iPhone X-like swipe-based navigation system. In this way, you can swipe up from anywhere to see full-screen previews of your most recent apps.
- You will get different AI applications, like one of them is “Adaptive Battery”, you can use it to save your battery time by switching off applications when you require them the least.
- It will include a predictive app system to tell what you want to do next or offer different suggestion based on your task. For example, if you pull up Google Maps every morning, it will start suggesting the action in the future.
- Another AI feature named ‘Slice’, which shows a slice of important information from your apps when the system believes you needs it.
- Last but not least, Google will also launch the digital wellbeing apps that it promised. They consist of a dashboard that shows time for different apps like which apps take up most of your time. It will also provide a timer that lets you set a limit for each application.
So, soon Android P (P stands for Pie Android 9.0) will be new obsession of android users will get.
