The Mate 20 Pro users are in for good news : some which the Mate 30 users can only dream about – an update to Android 10. Due to the trade war that has been going on between China and the US, Huawei has been banned from using Google services – which is why the latest Mate 30 flagship series run on an open source version of Android. This of course was always going to affect proceedings down at Huawei – and so has been the case. Had the ban not been put into affect, Huawei would have probably been the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer by the end of 2019, however, the reality is that the company, due to the current conditions, would have to settle for third place, behind both Samsung and Apple.
Coming back to the subject of the Mate 20 Pro though – the users are in for a treat, as this week sees the device being update to Google’s latest Android 10. This is all part of the deal of course, as any phone which has been sold or was under development prior to the May 16th Entity place is indeed allowed to use US components as well as a licensed version of Android.
Android 10 brings about a wide range of new features for the Mate 20 Pro, and one of the – if not the most recognizable feature brought in with the latest version of Android is the fact that the pill which we saw in Android 9 is gone. The pill was used to move between apps or backward. Also, Google’s latest software features with the system-wide dark theme toggle, along with live captions and much, much more.
