The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced the re-launched SMS service for the issuance of fresh currency notes to the public.
The distribution will be made through the subsidiary of SBP – SBP Banking Services Corporation (SBP BSC).
The fresh notes will be available from designated -E-branches- commercial bank branches and from the 16 field offices of the SBP BSC. The issuance of fresh currency notes through mobile SMS service will commence from 12th June and will continue till June 23, 2017.

The branch IDs of designated e-branches are now available at the SBP’s website in addition to Pakistan Banks Association (PBA) website and commercial banks’ websites. They will also be displayed outside the designated e-branches.
State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has doubled up the number of branches to 1000 this year from 500 of the previous year. These designated branches are based in 120 cities of various commercial and specialized banks.
The service will be provided via 1,000 e-branches in 120 cities of Pakistan to ensure maximum geographical coverage. The charges for the service have been reduced to Rs1.50 plus tax per SMS.
Under this facility, a person may send an SMS message informing about his/her 13-digit CNIC/Smart Card number along with the desired e-branch ID to code 8877.
