Galaxy S8 and S8+, Huawei & Honor Devices get Oreo update today. It appears to be a good day for Samsung fans as Galaxy S8 and S8+ users in the United States get Oreo update finally. However, apart from Samsung there are a few other devices as well that are receiving Oreo or its beta version today globally.
Earlier this year Samsung started rolling out Android 8 Oreo, but it has just appeared in the US. According to Droid-Life report, the Verizon variants of the last year’s flagship are getting Oreo update. On the other hands, some users have confirmed receiving G955USQU2CRB9 Android Oreo on their Plus phones; the build number for S8 is G950USQU2CRB9.
Well, interestingly the update contains Samsung Experience version 9.0 beside February’s security patch. Moreover, it also includes Oreo features like picture-in-picture.

P10 Plus also start receiving Android Oreo all around the globe
On the other side, Huawei has also started to release Android Oreo for its P10 and P10 Plus in advance to the P20 launch. The rollout seems to be global, yet, some regions could potentially get it before others.
Apart from the Oreo features, Huawei’s update also contains AI-based optimizations and a floating navigation dock to the company’s custom UI. Furthermore, the update also brings February security patches to its devices.

Honor 7X beta testers start getting Oreo and EMUI 8
On the other hand, Honor which is actually Huawei’s sub-brand has also rolled out Android Oreo for quite a few devices this year. The company has today started the Oreo beta plan for its mid-range Honor 7X that got excellent reviews for packing first-class features in its price rang.
Despite the fact that it packed some amazing specs, the device come with Android 7, which was one of the major disappointments. Well, if you signed up to the beta program, Honor is currently rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo and EMUI 8 to Honor 7X beta testers.
Here’s what the email that was sent to Honor Friendly User Test Program reads:
It will be a staged rollout throughout the day and everybody should have the update before the end of the week.
In order to get to know if the update is available, have a look to these steps:
- Go to “Settings” and scroll to “System”
- Select “System Update” and give it a few seconds run a quick scan
- Hit “Check for Updates” option, if no update appears select top right menu option (looks like three dots) and hit “Download latest full package”
- If successful please install update, if nothing shows up please wait a few hours before trying again.
