The Xiaomi MI 9, just yesterday, was ranked by DxOMark as being the third best smartphone all around the world for taking photos. However, now, it seems like a phone is looking to steal a lot of the Mi 9’s thunder, as the Galaxy S10 Plus too was rankedDxOMark.
DxOMark states that the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is now actually the best overall smartphone camera system for the purposes of still photography. While the overall score of the rear system of the device is matched by that of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and the Huawei P20 Pro, it is actually the selfie camera that blows away both the devices contesting by Huawei. Thus makes the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus the best full package choice.
The Galaxy S10 Plus recorded a score of 114 for the phone’s rear lens which it comes to still photography, which equals the same score set by both the Mate 20 Pro and the P20 Pro. The phone also scored 97 for video, and this too is exactly the same to what the Mate 20 Pro scored – however, the P20 Pro can boast a slightly higher score : 98.

By the looks of it – it wouldn’t take a genius to see that there is a tie between the three phones, however, that is the case only for the rear side of the phone. On the front, we have a dual selfie camera for the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, recording a score of 96 – much higher than what the Mate 20 Pro scored (75) and what the P20 Pro scored (72).
So all in all, taking everything into consideration, the Galaxy S10 gives you a complete package for taking photos, whether it be photos taken from the rear camera setup, or whether they are taken in the form of selfies.
Galaxy S10 with the best overall smartphone shooter?
And while some might not give a great deal of importance to the scores released by DxOMark, it no doubt is a great sign of innovation by Samsung as it is their flagship that has managed to match the two best smartphones camera systems in the world, while beating the likes of the Google Pixel 3 along the way.
