Samsung’s M series (M for millennials, probably) has started satisfying Samsung fans in the mid-tier category after a very long time of poor phones, with Samsung realizing how big of a market presence it has in this sector and thereafter making considerable efforts for its redemption. In comes the Galaxy M40 to make its competitors look like nothing.
It is without a doubt a beautiful smartphone; however, such designs have become extremely common and that makes it a little less appealing. Take nothing away, the front of the device hosting the 6.3 inch infinity-O display, with a full HD+ resolution is a winner for smartphone displays, one thing that smartphone makers would rather ignore in this category, it is nice to see Samsung step up and show that even at this price point, a very good display is achievable in a smartphone. The O stands for the camera cutout allowing for the front camera to be placed there and the absence of a conventional microphone means that Samsung would be using the screen vibrating function to transmit sound, a technology that is increasingly becoming common with manufacturers trying to maximize screen-to-body ratio. The hole punch camera is a 16MP sensor with f2.0 aperture. The rear cameras are a triple camera system with 32MP for the main, 5MP for portraits, and 8MP for ultra wide shots. Considering the inclusion of all major sensors that smartphones have these days to cover all camera situations is a welcome addition to the smartphone.

Looking into the ports, it has been decided to omit the headphone jack from the phone, and compensating that with earbuds inside the box. The processor is a snapdragon 675 with a generous 6GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage! It also supports fast charging and has ONE UI built in atop Android Pie.
Here’s the bad news, the phone is restricted to India with a price of Rs19,990 INR, which is around $288.
