Back in those days, when android wasn’t around and Nokia was still King and bossing the phone market, it sure came up with a few surprises every now and then. One of them was its slider phone allowing the phone to accommodate an entire physical keyboard within the device. It took the world by storm but with the entrance of Android and iOS and the phone market becoming “SMART”, this storm slowly and gradually faded away until nobody talked about slider phones. Even Blackberry gave the functionality its own spin but that was to change as the world went into a massive transition to touch screen devices. While skimming through that, you would notice that the company,F(x)tec, a UK-based start-up, cut a few corners here and there for…. While usually here one would say “price”, but that’s not the case here. A price-tag of £649, the phone doesn’t come cheap, so what is the reason behind the now- outdated processor (although still very capable) is currently a hard question to answer.
As a 13.99mm thick device, you’ll fully expect to have some fun moving that screen around back and forth a bit. And when you settle down, you’ll find the display comfortably aligned at a 155° agree toward your favour.
In terms of software, there’s good and bad news: the device will be running a fairly clean version of Android 9 Pie when it launches in July. It may be a great user experience in conventional terms, but there aren’t really too many optimizations when it comes to working with landscape orientations — especially when a physical keyboard can come into play.
