Higher Education Commission (HEC) has stopped four universities located across multiple cities in Pakistan, from accepting further admissions, reportedly.
The four Universities in question are:
(1) Al-Khair University, Azad Jammu & Kashmir
(2) Global Institute, Lahore
(3) Imperial College of Business Studies, Lahore
(4) Preston Institute of Management Sciences and Technology (PIMSAT), Karachi
An official notification had been issued by the Director General of HEC on social media and in this notification suspension of the concerned universities was announced. Students are being advised to avoid these universities and look for alternatives to continue their academic qualifications.
Degrees Will Not Be Recognized by HEC
The Higher Education Commission advises students to avoid taking admission in the above-mentioned institutions or in those very institutes that claim to be associated with them. Admissions in the above-mentioned institutes and their affiliates have been suspended out of the irregularities and mismanagement discovered in their operations.
Degrees from these universities or institutes and from their affiliated branches or campuses will not be recognized by the HEC, according to the reports. To check that what are the universities that have been officially recognized by the commission head to hec.gov.pk/site/HEIs.
NTC Scrapped For Undergraduate Tests:
HEC has ended the NTC testing scheme for universities, recently, in order to revamp the whole process of education. A new govt body had been established that is Called the “Education Testing Council”. It has announced an Undergraduate Entry Test test for those students that are seeking admissions after their 2nd-year exams.
Dates for the test had been announced at the start of this month. The last date for applications was 12th of July which was extended to 17th of July to accommodate more admissions.
