Just recently, Samsung made a bold claim – stating that the company would try its level best on bringing on innovation to the various mid range phones it releases each year, and it looks as if the company has finally followed up on the claim. According to various credible sources, the company is rumored to release a mid range phone, which will come with an In-display fingerprint sensor.
The news was revealed by a major Samsung leaker, MMDDJ, and was broadcasted by Phone Arena. Also in accordance to the leaker, the phone will be are arriving next month, so we won’t actually have to wait a lot. If this turns out to be true, then the phone will be the first Samsung phone which features an In-display fingerprint scanner.
In some of the previous tweets by the same leaker, it was revealed that the phone would be called the Samsung Galaxy P, and even though it would be the first Samsung phone ever to feature an In-display fingerprint scanner, it would still come as a rather budget phone. The leaker also went further by saying that the phone will be “Original Design Manufacturer” phone specifically for China. What this means is that the Korean giant will indeed be designing the phone, however, it will not be manufactured in the company’s own facilities.

Rumors have also been going around the Galaxy s10, and whether or not the phone will come with an ultrasonic in display fingerprint scanner – which certainly seems to be the case. It also looks as if the next phone in the company’s A series will feature an optical sensor. If these rumors do indeed turn out to be true, then it would seem that the Galaxy P would likely get an optical sensor, while Samsung keeps the ultrasonic one exclusively for its latest and upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy s10.
Though little is known about the mid ranger, Galaxy P, the rumors actually do make some sense. According to recent reports, Samsung’s share of the smartphone market in China fell to below one percent. Now, by bringing on a specific China based model featuring ground breaking technology, Samsung will probably be looking to regain some of the, if not all the market it lost in recent times.
And also, because at this time these are all rumors, if you are having a hard time in believing whether or not a mid range phone from Samsung will indeed be featuring such technology –just consider the fact that Samsung mobile CEO most recently stated that the company’s mid range devices will indeed start to get new technology even before the flagship galaxy S and the Note phones.
