How do you feel with shooting brakes of Tesla’s first Model S station wagon. It’s been a long time we were hearing about station wagons under the making process by two after market modification companies, one of those two was Tesla, and finally Tesla’s station wagon has been completed.
Though, there was no competition among the companies, i will call Tesla to be the winner company for completing the very first working Model S station wagon.
It had been reported earlier that RemetzCar, the maker of the Model S hearse, are working on a Model S wagon, but, in fact Qwest –Qwest founded by a bunch of engineers and automotive designers based in Norfolk, UK– is actually the company that completed their working prototype first.

Previously they were progressing their work on a Model S P90D, and now they have announced that they have completed the modifications of the vehicle.
Tesla’s vehicles are connected -highly- with sensors and it is easy to end up with error alerts even with fairly simple modifications, but Qwest claims that they checked with Tesla to know how to proceed to maintain support for the vehicle after the modifications, most significantly with future software updates.
Yesterday, they shared a video and claimed that the vehicle is fully working.
They have created the new parts with carbon fiber to limit the weight added for the bigger rear.
What is your opinion? i don’t know, but to me, it is very impressive. Often, I don’t like the aftermarket Tesla modifications, but this one has turned out to be great and it is also practical if you are striving for a little more cargo space.
Cargo space aside, the design of the Model S is pleasing if you don’t mind the shooting brake-look. The design of Model S translates well into a sport wagon. We have already seen several Tesla Model S wagon renderings that were well-received, but it is easy to make a rendering look even good.
Now we can see an actual working vehicle that holds up to the renderings in form of Model S.
Wagons, estate cars, and shooting-brakes, are very popular in Europe, especially in markets such ad the UK and Germany, but there is currently none with an all-electric power train.
Despite the fact of being an after market upgrade, It could technically be considered to be the first one and now that they have developed all the parts and the molds, Q west could potentially bring the cost of the modification down & could offer it to other Model S owners.
