So much to the excitement of cricket fans all over Pakistan it has been confirmed by the head coach of Pakistan Cricket Team, Misbah Ul Haq that Fawad Alam will be featuring in the upcoming series set to be played at home against the formidable side of Sri Lanka. Following extreme criticism against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over the exclusion of Fawad Alam from the Test squad, the board has finally opted to include the 34 year Left hand batsmen Fawad in the series against Sri Lanka.
The left-handed batsman has been a consistent performer in the domestic circuit and recently crossed 13,000 first-class runs with a career average of over 50.
The decision to bring Fawad has been added in a bid to strengthen the batting core of the team following a very unsuccessful run against the Aussies in there home ground and cricket fans could see the amount of tragedy in the batting side when they played the Aussies.

Moreover, it is worth noting here that the last time Fawad Alam featured in Pakistan Test squad was way-way back in November 2009. Since then it has taken the batsman almost one decade to make a comeback despite being one of the best batsmen in the domestic circuit each year which shows the amazing consistency the man has on his hands. Over the past 2 years the PCB was heavily criticised for not giving the batsmen a chance at his career given that he performs so well domestically, now the stage is set for Fawad Alam to show the board what he is made of and to in turn show the people that trusted in him so much, by performing and scoring a ton load of runs.
He will be replacing Iftikhar Ahmed in the Test squad which traveled to Australia. Additionally, Mohammad Musa has also been replaced by Usman Khan Shinwari as he is also given a chance to represent the green team again.
