Facebook are looking in to the prospect of possibly merging some of its biggest and most-used services, in particular Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram all in to one app which will perform the functions of all of the major messaging apps which Facebook currently has hold of which is reported in a new article in The New York Times.
Moreover as per the new report, The CEO and owner of Facebook and its coinciding platforms, Mark Zuckerberg is establishing his control over the company’s different divisions and is motivated on the prospectof merging the company’s major messaging services. The plan that follows will supposedlyallow Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram users to chat with each other, regardless of the platform they’re using.
What is important to note is the fact that, the report notes that Zuckerberg has also ordered apps to adopt to end-to-end encryption, which will mark a big step forward in security their apps like Messenger and Instagram and considering the controversy Facebook has surrounded themselves in, it is definitely a big step in the right direction. So when all of these plans will be able to provide such a messaging services is still quite unclear but according to The New York Times they have said that Facebook has planned a launch set for 2020, but of course whether the company ends up executing these plans still remains to be seen
