The Snapdragon 700 series represents Qualcomm’s line of upper mid-range chipsets, with the series including the likes of the 10nm Snapdragon 710 and the Snapdragon 712 processors. To go with these feature with 8nm Snapdragon 730 and Snapdragon 730G processors. Now, a new leak has surfaced online, with the leak going on to reveal that Qualcomm is in the process of developing a 7nm chipset – with this being commercially known as the Snapdragon 735.
Considering the fact that the Snapdragon 735 will be a 7nm chipset much like the Snapdragon 855, we expect that power efficiency will also be greater than the 8nm Snapdragon 730 duo. The Snapdragon 735 is set to be an Octa-core processor with a 1 + 1 + 6 CPU cluster. The chipset is set to have one unspecified Kryo 400 series core being clicked in at 2.9GHz, and this will come paired with another Kryo400 series which will be clocked at 2.4Ghz and six Kryo 400 series – which are set to be clocked at 1.8Ghz.

The mobile platform is set to include an Adreno 620 GPU being clocked in at 750MHx coming with the support for QHD (3360 x 1440) displays with a wide color gamut and HDR10/HDR10+. The processor will also come with the support of up to 16 gigs of LPDDR4X RAM.
The Snapdragon 735 will come with the inclusion of a Spectra 350 ISP much like the Snapdragon 730 which goes on to support up to 32MP 30fps ZSL. A thing to note is that it will also come with a new NPU220 for the purposes of AI tasks which are clocked at 1GHz.
Another interesting thing to note is that since the processor will also have a 5G modem integrated within them, this goes on to indicate that mid-range 5G phones are well on their way. The processor will also support UFS 2.1, eMMC 5.1, and the USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type C.
At this moment in time, there still does not seem to be any info as to when the chipset will be announced. However, many expect that it could go on to be unveiled this year and start to show up on devices in 2020.
