Design revision for the iPhone?

New reports are now lining up with regards to Apple’s up and coming flagship smartphone in the iPhone 12. The new reports are suggesting accounts based in details from sources who have seen prototypes of the company’s next design revisions to the iPhone.

It is believed that Apple may release four new iPhones at the end of this year. Two of these are said to belong to the top-end segment of the market replacing both the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The other two lower end models are to perhaps going to replace the present iPhone 11.

Reports are suggestive of the idea that we should be expecting flattened stainless steel edges to replace the current more rounded sides – for the two higher end models – possibly even indicating that this might also be the case for all the four phones. If this does indeed turn out to be the case, then coupled with more sharply rounded corners would mean that the new chassis of the iPhones would resemble both the current as well as the iPhone 5 from 2012.

It is also expected that the company will extend the LiDAR scanner from the iPad pro to the iPhone Pro models which will go on and continue to have three cameras placed on the back. It is expected then that the lower-end models would retain their current two rear cameras.

It is said that the replacement for the iPhone 11 Pro Max will feature with a slightly bigger screen than the 6.5-inch one used currently in the device, and it is also expected that the Face ID notch would be a little less pronounced.

One can also imagine that the iPhones might see a delay this year – thanks to all that has been happening across the globe courtesy of the novel coronavirus. Indeed there have also been some reports that some models of the iPhones may actually be released many weeks later than what we usually see. Whether that does turn out to be the case – we can only wait and see.
