Broadcom happens to be one of Apple’s major suppliers for hardware – which of course includes the likes of iPhone WiFi chips. Anyways, the CEO of Broadcom has recently claimed that it expects Apple’s iPhone 12 lineup to see a delay from the more traditional September launch that Apple is known for. Indeed the CEO has claimed that this launch might be put ahead for Q4 as he went on to give the idea that October might end up being the month that Apple finally goes on to launch its latest flagship series.
The CEO also went on to share a bit more about his company’s expectations over the eventual iPhone 12 launch during an earnings call – and he did so without explicitly naming Apple. He also raised some concerns over his company’s revenue – especially in Q3, as Broadcom has enjoyed large sums of money coming in the third quarter of the past many years : “This year, we do not expect to see this uptick in revenue until our forth fiscal quarter. So accordingly, we expect, our wireless revenue in Q3 will be down sequentially.”

Notably, this news is also in corroboration with what we’ve been hearing from many sources over the past couple of weeks. Indeed sources like WSJ, Bloomberg as well as some analysts too have said that they all expect the iPhone 12 launch to be delayed.
With that said, the current ballpark with regards to the launch for the iPhone 12 lineup seems to be the month of October – however, the CEO’s comment was more general when he mentioned Q4 – not just strictly being limited to October. It’s also possible that we might end up seeing the latest iPhones during the September event – with the availability being pushed out just one month to October. It is then also possible that we might end up witnessing yet another staggered release – much similar to what we witnessed with the iPhone XR and the iPhone X all the way back in 2017.
