Very recently, the crown group held an event in which it proceeded on to market test of its exclusive range of CROWNE Electric Vehicles. Such vehicles go on to include two, three as well as four-wheelers, and will enable people across the country to drive one kilometer in an astonishingly low price of only Rs.1.25.
These electric vehicles will be subject to manufacture at the Group’s newly built 26 acre Port Qasim facility. The initial production capacity is 120,000 units of such vehicles per annum, with the group already going on to invest a substantial amount of money – Rs. 2 billion in exact on the plant, in the very first phase.
The EV policy is yet to be announced – which claims around one percent duty in CKD parts as well as 5 percent sales tax. The company though has set out the prices thereby which the vehicles command, with the four-wheeler electric car going on for Rs. 400,000 whereas the display and testing prices for the electric three-wheeler car and two-wheeler scooty going on for Rs. 300,000 and Rs. 55,000.
Furthermore, the three-wheeler rickshaw has also been introduced (two-in-one) which comes in both electric and also engine equipped, with manual switching options – at a display price of Rs. 300,000 and Rs. 250,000 respectively.
All in all, the electric cars go on to include a four and three-wheeler car, two and three-wheeler scooty’s, cargo loaders, three-wheeler two-in-one, three-wheeler nine-seater, garbage trucks as well as ambulances.
All the vehicles that have been aforementioned will indeed arrive with the option of getting a factory-installed engine – for those of whom that will want to use the vehicle for longer routes.
For now, crown group is the only leading brand in the two and three-wheeler industries that are employed within Pakistan and the only local consumer brand which actually exports to international markets.
